St George's Church, Fordington, is a friendly church where everyone is welcome. We have three main Sunday services:
- a traditional, quiet Holy Communion at 8am, with no singing, which lasts about 30 minutes
- Holy Communion at 10:15am, accompanied by choir and organ (or Come and Worship on the 4th Sunday of the month), during which our Sunday club for children, St George's Dragons, meets. All are welcome to stay for coffee and biscuits at the end of the service.
- traditional Evensong (see box for times), accompanied by choir and organ
St George's Church stands high on a hill overlooking the village green of Fordington, where the church fair is held every spring. The church dates back to at least the 15th century but has been updated in recent years. Parking is available behind the church, next to our large church hall which is available for hire. There is wheelchair access to the church from the car park, and toilets (including disabled toilet) in the church hall.
The church is open most days between 10am and 3pm. Items for Dorchester Foodbank can be left at the back of the church.
