Dorchester Deanery Children's Group - Constitution

1. Membership of Dorchester Deanery Children’s Group is confined to those people who have been authorised, by the incumbent of an Anglican Church within the Dorchester Deanery, to lead or assist in the leadership of a recognised Church Youth Group or Sunday School.

2. The purpose and aims of the group are as follows:

· To provide mutual help and support by means of prayer, counselling and advice.
· To provide resource material and encourage sharing of materials and ideas.
· The provision of training.
· The promotion of good practice.
· The provision of Deanery Events for Children.

3. There shall be held, each year, an Annual General Meeting at which a Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer shall be appointed by means of a simple majority vote.

4. Any monies collected or donated shall be properly accounted for and a bank or building society account shall be held. Two signatures shall be required for the issue of cheques or for the withdrawal of cash. One shall be that of the Treasurer and the other either the Chairperson or the Secretary.

5. Minutes shall be taken of every meeting.

6. The Group is formed and meets only with the permission of the Rural Dean and his successors. In any case of dispute, the matter must be put to the Rural Dean in post at that time, whose decision shall be final and binding. The Rural Dean and his successors may at any time and for any reason direct that the Group disband and cease all activities.

7. Should the group disband then any monies held in any account shall be transferred to the Deanery Treasurer and used for any purpose so directed by the Rural Dean in post at that time.

8. The Rural Dean or his/her nominee may attend any meeting of the Group.
