Dorchester Deanery Children's Group - Who are we ?

The Dorchester Deanery Children’s Group is the properly formed mechanism for co-ordinating work with Children in the Deanery. It was formed from an ad-hoc group of Sunday School teachers by, and with, the approval of the Rural Dean and advice from the Diocese.

Each Parish in the Deanery has a representative to whom the minutes of all meetings are sent. The Rural Dean is also kept informed and sent copies of the minutes.

In accordance with the Constitution, various activities have been successfully organised (for instance ‘Bish & Chips’ and the annual Carols on the Green).
‘You can come too!’ – Family Picnic with worship and games.

In the past, the Deanery Group has raised over £1,000 via sales of our Ex-Officio Chairman’s poetry book; £500 of which has been given out as cash grants to Sunday Schools within the Deanery, the remainder has been allocated to fund future events.
