Magazine Feedback - October Issue

On page 9 of this month's Magazine, the Editor asks whether, given the variety of different methods of giving to the Church that are available to us, ranging from standing orders, to payments over the Internet, the traditional Offertory, as a part of our services in Church, has not now become obsolete? What do you think?

And, if you do make your offering directly from the Bank, what do you do when the collection plate comes around?

Please let us have your thoughts. Join in the discussion by clicking on the Comments link

Parish Magazine Feedback - July / August

This month's Magazine reports on a new Age Concern campaign to treat elederly people with greater dignity, clarity and fairness. This is an area where the church is in a unique position to observe at first hand. Our clergy and pastoral assistants come into regular contact with people in care homes or housebound in their own homes.

Many of us also visit friends and relatives who are no longer able to join us in church. Should the Church, nationally and locally, do more to speak out on behalf of our older members, to denounce the failings in our systems and demand they are treated with dignity and fairness? Are we afraid that making a fuss on behalf of our older friends will cause trouble for them and jeopardise our privileged rights of access to care homes and hospitals?
