Letter to Philip Lambert
Wednesday 15th September 2004
Richard Betts asked me to contact you
about the Parish Website.
This is now up and running, thanks to the good offices of Richard Cox. We have
information from St George’s and St Peter’s but are still waiting for St Mary’s
contribution. Richard is happy to continue, for the time being at least, as
webmaster.
The Pews News is also available for the current and previous week. However if
there are any particular events that need to be highlighted, Richard, as
webmaster, is happy to do this when the information is sent to him. We need some
guidance on this, as to whether this should be a free-for-all or whether it
should come from the individual Churches’ representatives/clergy. The
representatives for each church as: St Mary’s - Jean Saddington
St Peter’s - Mike Morgan
St George’s - Richard Cox and me
One of the important things the website could do for the parish is to improve
communication between the Churches. To this end, we do believe that it would be
useful to have a parish diary available, so that important dates can be accessed
easily. Mary Wade in the Parish Office would seem to be most able to collate
this to send to Richard Cox.
We have had discussions about including various rotas on-line, so that this
information is readily accessible to parishioners, but there is some feeling
that this is too personal to be so widely available.
We would be grateful for any ideas you have regarding the development of this
site.
