Dorchester Parish Website Meeting
Wednesday 6th July 2005 at 8:15p.m. at The Wessex Royale Hotel
Minutes
Present: Rev Richard Betts (RB), Richard Budd (RBu), Richard Cox (RC)
& Trisha Bowen (TB)
Apologies: Mike Morgan (MM)
1. Confirmation of the name of the Parish website - It was unanimously
agreed that since no further feedback was received, the name of the Parish
website would remain for the time being as “The Dorchester Parish Website”. The
committee agreed to revue this, should West Stafford and Monkton wish to publish
their homepages on this site.
2. Follow-up to Open evening - The website open evening was
deemed to be a success with more than 30 members of the parish present. The team
have received numerous items of feedback, most of which, where practical, were
implemented on the site. The website build will continue to be a work in
progress, with new ideas and feedback being incorporated as and when available.
3. Pages for John White celebrations and other suggested additions
– As MM was not at the meeting it was agreed that a follow up email should be
sent to him, asking for any additional news items surrounding the John White
celebrations that need to be included in the St Peters section of the site be
included.
4. Any other business – As St Georges Church tower has recently
been augmented to 8 bells, RC agreed to follow up and include any new
information, pictures etc that would compliment the section. RB made the
comment that news items on the site need to be date specific and all ‘old’ news
items need to be deleted, when no longer applicable. RC stated that this
also needs to apply to current information that needs to be updated on a regular
basis. Pews News is now published regularly (with many thanks to the Parish
Office) on a Friday night and due to feedback received from the open evening,
now includes 3 weeks on a rolling basis. RC mentioned that the Parish
Magazine Taster page needs to be updated on a regular basis – RC will
speak to MM to chase.
The meeting closed at 9:00pm
- End of Meeting.
