The Benefice Website

The website is intended to be of use to three main groups of visitors:

Firstly, those who want to find out about the Benefice in general, the Churches, and their history, and who may not live in the area,

Secondly, those who live in Dorchester, and who may wish to use the facilities offered by the churches of the Benefice

Thirdly, those who are members of our congregations, and who wish to read about the latest news, and details of events and services

If you belong to the first group, we suggest that you explore the site by clicking on one of the pictures on the Home Page, which will open a page specific to that particular Church. This page has links along the top, leading to pages which describe the buildiings, their history, and further information of interest.

If you belong to the second group, we suggest that you start by clicking on the Benefice logo in the centre of the Home Page. This leads to a Welcome page which links to maps showing the locations of the Churches, and the various interest groups within the Benefice, and also links at the top of this page lead to pages concerned with Christenings and Marriages. It may also be useful to use the Contact link at the top of the page to locate someone if you wish to discuss anything in more detail.

Finally, if you belong to the third group, the links at the top of, and to the left of the Home Page are for you! To the left, each church has its own News Page, and there is also one for the Benefice, where we welcome feedback on the news items, and on items published in the Parish Magazine. The links along the top are fairly self-explanatory, and include links to recent Pews News, and to the Benefice Diary. To the right are e-mail links, the first is to send your comments, feedback, and suggestions to the webmaster. The second is to send in any news and other material, for example, photos. If you use this link, your e-mail will go to the Parish Office (for Pews News), the Editor of the Parish Magazine, the compiler of the Benefice Diary, and to the Webmaster. Remember, we depend on your news and feedback to ensure that we publish the information you need in the form in which you need it!

I hope this helps, and look forward to receiving your feedback.
